Marble Stitches Production Platform

Overview

How did I turn the operational challenges of a real production business into a working digital system? I built an internal production platform for Marble Stitches in one week with AI, bringing customers, orders, team and materials into one system.

Problem

The starting point was the day-to-day work of a real production business: managing customers, orders, people and materials.

Context

Marble Stitches began in 2017 as an online-ordered tailoring business, founded to address the disappointment of late delivery. This platform grew out of that operating context.

My role

I built the internal platform with AI assistance.

Development process

The platform was built in one week with AI.

Solution

An internal production system to manage customers, orders, team and materials at Marble Stitches. The feature list below comes from the build plan; individual delivery statuses have not yet been supplied.

Limitations

The figures below describe records documented in the system. They do not establish adoption, productivity gains or independently audited business outcomes. Feature-by-feature Live or Planned status remains unconfirmed.

Founder · Operations · Since 2017

Building Marble Stitches

Overview

I learned tailoring in 2013. Seeing a bride cry because her wedding clothes were not ready stayed with me. In 2017, I started Marble Stitches with online orders to address that kind of disappointment.

Problem

Late delivery can turn an important occasion into disappointment. That experience became the starting point for the business I wanted to build.

Context

I learned from a skilled tailor in 2013 and later gained experience running operations during NYSC. I started Marble Stitches in 2017 and earned an MBA in Production & Operations at the University of Lagos in 2021.

My role

As founder, I built the business and its delivery culture, including training a team from scratch.

Discovery

The origin of this work was an observed delivery problem, followed by hands-on tailoring and operations experience.

Product decisions

The business started with online orders. Building a delivery culture involved letting some hires go and training people from scratch.

Development process

From learning tailoring in 2013 to founding the business in 2017, the story developed through practical operations experience and team building. The MBA followed in 2021.

Solution

Marble Stitches is the business behind the production-platform story. Its work includes four revenue-generating product lines, a US retail joint venture for Asoooke handwoven tote bags, and the Plan my Wardrobe savings-wallet payment plan.

Limitations

Capacity growth, revenue growth, on-time delivery and referral figures are excluded while their supporting details remain unconfirmed.

Masterclass · Since July 2023

Building to Last

Overview

I convene Building to Last, a masterclass for fashion businesses, which began in July 2023. Its annual goal is to equip 500 fashion businesses; that is a target, not a reported result.

Problem

The focus is helping fashion businesses build structure, profitability and lasting operations.

Context

Building to Last sits within my broader goal of helping 10,000 African fashion businesses build structured, profitable, lasting businesses by the early 2030s. This is a future goal, not a claim of progress achieved.

My role

Convener of the Building to Last masterclass since July 2023.

Development process

The masterclass began in July 2023.

Solution

A masterclass for fashion businesses.

Limitations

Actual reach and participant outcomes have not yet been supplied. Neither the annual target nor the long-term vision is presented as an achieved result.
